SOLITUDE

Canon REBEL XS, Promaster 19-35 lens @19mm, ISO 400, f/14, 1.6 sec.
Made a difficult hike to Spruce Flats Falls in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park on Saturday morning with my good friend Tim Owens.  The hike was arduous and rough and my knees & ankles will never forgive me. But the hike was worth the effort. This was instantly my favorite waterfall that I have come across. So many different angles, smaller cascades, and large rocks surrounding the large 28 foot waterfall that I could have shot all day long.
The only drawback was that it was so canopied by the trees that it was impossible to keep shutter speeds below 2 seconds.
I really loved this angle because of the way the rocks lead you into the frame and to the bottom of the falls. Also love the Rhododendrons that surround the entire banks.
