I spent Thursday evening walking around and photographing around Fort Loudon State Park in Vonore, TN. Ft. Loudon is replica of a the original fort that was built back in 1785 by the English on the Tennessee River to battle the French influenced Indians in the area during the French & Indian War. The original fort is under Tellico Lake from where they dammed up the river back in the 1980's. They have reenactments and festivals at Fort Loudon and have wrapped the state park around it and the land it sits on which is right on a point on the lake. It is quite a beautiful location.
As I was walking down the trail from the fort to the welcome center, the sun was starting to set and was shining through the trees and striking this tree stump. I happened to look at it just as my shadow was crossing right over it. I noticed that I could set the camera and tripod in front of me and my shadow would completely engulf them so I started holding still and shooting a self-portrait of myself. I thought it quite neat against the grainy tree trunk.
Suiting, being that we used to be the stump brothers!
